NITAI HERSHKOVITS & DANIEL DOR
Tel-Aviv

Producer/keyboardist Nitai Hershkovits originally started out his musical path on clarinet before switching to the piano at age 15. Jazz and improvised music were the focal point of his musical investigations throughout his teens, with a particularly strong interest for the idiosyncrasies of Sonny Rollins. In this period, Nitai won several jazz competitions in the Tel Aviv area before his deepened interest in classical music took shape, leading to studies in both jazz and classical piano with Menahem Weisenberg, Amir Pedorovits, and Suzan Cohen. After a five-year spell in Avishai Cohen’s trio (2011-2016), Nitai moved to New York, where he played in numerous groups. Among his different projects are his ECM solo piano and his band Apifera.

Drummer, multi-instrumentalist Daniel Dor was born in Tel-Aviv to a family of musicians, building his first drum set out of pots and pans at the early age of 10. A 2020 relocation to the serene American Southwest has inspired his solo piano album ‘Four Petals’–released on Raw Tapes Records–exploring his innovative rhythmic method called The Flower. His art exhibition ‘Four Petals In A Room’ delves further into his fascination with rhythmic symmetry through visual and auditory mediums. As a lecturer and clinician, Daniel teaches his method at the Jerusalem Academy of Dance and Music, as well as masterclasses at various institutions. Dor performs around the globe, collaborating with artists such as Avishai Cohen, Now, Chano Dominguez, and many others.
